What is PVC Conduit?

PVC Conduit is a nonmetallic raceway made from polyvinyl chloride that protects and routes insulated electrical conductors. Rigid PVC conduit resists moisture, corrosion, and many chemicals, so installers use it indoors, outdoors, underground, and in wet locations when code permits. PVC conduit does not provide an equipment grounding path. So a grounding conductor is normally installed inside.
